🫡 Saluting Face Emoji

A yellow face with its right hand saluting. Used as a sign of respect.

The expression of the face of this emoji can vary across platforms, with some designs featuring a neutral face while others are shown smiling to various degrees.

Apple and Huewai's designs notably only display half a face, likely to make the saluting hand more prominent when this emoji is viewed in smaller sizes.

This emoji went viral across Twitter in late 2022 following the news that the platform would be dramatically reducing its staff numbers as part of a company-wide restructuring following its acquisition by Elon Musk. Learn more here.
