Usually monsoon sets in Mumbai on June 11, but this year monsoon has arrived two days earlier. In general, monsoon set in Kerala two days earlier. If the monsoon continues in this manner, monsoon may enter from South Gujarat in the next two-three days.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has reached Mumbai and the conditions are favorable for the advance of the monsoon towards Gujarat. It is to be noted that rain has started in the state for the last two-three days as part of pre-monsoon activity.
On the other hand, Paresh Goswami, a well-known meteorologist of Gujarat, has predicted the weather of Gujarat on the night of June 8 on his YouTube channel. In which he has informed that pre-monsoon activity has taken place on June 8 in some areas of South Gujarat and Saurashtra. There have been reports of rain in some areas. Rain showers are likely to occur in many areas today. Intense pre-monsoon activity is likely from 9th to 13th.
Paresh Goswami has further informed that a system is forming in the Arabian Sea which is likely to become a deep depression. This system will move north east over Maharashtra. Due to which there are possibilities of pre-monsoon activity till 13th June. In which some areas of Botad, Bhavnagar, Girsomanath, Amreli, Junagadh and Rajkot of South Gujarat and Saurashtra will also see rain. Saurashtra districts will have low intensity while southern districts will have high intensity. Along with this, pre-monsoon activity may occur in scattered areas of Central Gujarat as well
