Gujarat Rain News : While the state has been seeing less rainfall for the past few days, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain at scattered places in most parts of the state.  On the other hand, weather expert Ambalal Patel has indicated the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the state in the coming days.  While in the state, it has rained in 108 talukas in the last 24 hours. 

Heavy to very heavy rain forecast over Saurashtra and South Gujarat

Ambalal Patel has said that, while light rain is falling in most parts of the state, the intensity of rain will increase in the coming days.  By August 14, there may be good to very heavy rain in the areas of Saurashtra and South Gujarat.  While there is heavy rain in the areas of Central and North Gujarat including Kutch.

From 17th to 24th August, Meghraja will call Dhabdhabati 

Ambalal Patel, predicting heavy rains in the state, said, ‘Meghraja may beat in some areas from August 17 to 24 due to the activation of another system in the Bay of Bengal.  While there is a possibility of good rain in most parts of the state.  Meanwhile, heavy to heavy rains may occur in some areas amidst the rainy conditions in August, causing flooding in the rivers.’

108 talukas received rain in the last 24 hours

While most parts of the state received light to moderate rains, 108 talukas received rain in the last 24 hours.  In which 92 mm of rain has fallen in Vadodara, 58 mm in Jetpur Pavi of Chota Udepur, 55 mm in Borsad of Anand, 54 mm in Jambughoda of Panchmahal, 47 mm in Chota Udepur and 34 mm in Bodeli.  While the least rainfall was 1 mm in Keshod of Junagadh, Hansot of Bharuch, Bavla of Ahmedabad, Navsari, Rapar of Kutch, Ahmedabad City, Khanpur of Mahisagar, Aravalli Modasa and Kukarmunda taluka of Tapi.
